CAPLAN

Dr. Caplan has extensive experience in treating depression and anxiety, ADHD, improving relationship and family Interactions,  substance use disorders and grief/loss. One of her primary areas of interests is in providing support for individuals on the autism spectrum, and their families. Dr. Caplan uses an integrative approach to therapy. She has experience utilizing a number of treatment orientations, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Therapy. This breadth of experience allows Dr. Caplan to utilize one or a combination of therapies to maximize treatment effectiveness based on each client's unique needs. Dr. Sheryl Caplan is a graduate of the Counseling Psychology program at The University of North Texas. Her areas of focus during training were ADHD/ADD and Marriage and Family Therapy. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dallas, TX and a post-doctoral fellowship at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, TX. Dr. Caplan maintained a private practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth area from 1999-2010. She moved to North Carolina in 2010 and now offers individual and couples therapy in the Raleigh, NC area, and throughout the state.
